H.R. 3057 - THE SPACE EXPLORATION ACT
Representative Nick Lampson (D-TX)

Would clear goals and timetables for a renewed space exploration program "facilitate the scientific exploration of the solar system and aid in the search for life elsewhere in the universe."? Does an Office of Exploration need to be created?

HR 2921 - Genetically Engineered Pharmaceutical and Industrial Crop Safety Act
Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH)
This bill prohibits the open air cultivation of genetically altered crops so that they cannot intermingle with non-altered crops. It also develops a tracking system for all genetically engineered species.
S 1053 - Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act
Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-ME)
This legislation prohibits employers and health insurers from using a genetic family history of cancer, heart disease or other illness against a healthy person. With this law, genetic information could not be used to determine a person's eligibility for employment or health insurance, nor could it affect their health insurance premium.
S 245 / HR 534 - Human Cloning Prohibition Act
Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS)
With this legislation, the cloning of cells for any purpose would be prohibited. It would not allow use of these living cells for reproductive cloning, nor for therapeutic research into diseases such as Alzheimer's, diabetes, Parkinson's, and cancer.
